This iReport is part of an assignment:
Are you a Beatlemaniac? |
In my life
I've been a Beatlemaniac ever since I was a kid, when I saw them perform live on The Ed Sullivan Show .
These are photos of a hand painted Russian nesting, or "matroshka" doll I got while I was in Russia in 2001.
I wanted to get a matroshka with a Sergeant Pepper theme, but I forgot to take the album artwork with me. I briefly described what I wanted to a matroshka artist. His English was about as bad as my Russian, and I wasn't sure he understood me at all. I spent the next three weeks trying to find a copy of Sergeant Pepper for him to work with, but to no avail. So I figured it was a lost cause, and forgot all about it.
The day before I returned to the states, he showed up with this, which he had made based on tiny thumbnail sized pictures from a bootleg Beatles CD he got in a Russian flea market.
