9/11: Where Were You When The World Stopped?
September 11, 2001. A day for "Baby Boomers" that will live in Infamy - It was "Our" Pearl Harbor. I still cry, sometimes even when I only think of that date. I almost fell apart while shooting this Special Report. Where were you on that fateful day?
I was at home, just waking up to go to work, when my wife's best friend called from Nashville, Tenn. A lot of people on the west coast were still asleep when the first plane hit. Roberta woke me to tell me the news - and I could not believe it - I thought I was dreaming. But I still went to work that day - The business of America still had to be done.
In this report, neighbors and friends of ours shared their thoughts on this day of destruction - and the years that have followed.
From the right, "Larry and Louri", who have just announced plans to marry, give us their memories of that unbelievable day. My Wife Roberta, and my son Rob, finish the interviews and stories on the right.
Larry was at work as a locksmith when the death planes came. Louri was at home, shocked beyond reason. My son Rob had just came back from the graveyard shift at work - he thought the world had came to end.
Should we have concentrated on Afghanistan before going into Iraq - two years later? Bin Laden has still not been caught - and the war there is now growing, eight years later.
I am crying now. Please - Don't ever forget this day.
