Waves of Flags..... Pepperdine University Honors Victims of 911

Pepperdine University began their week long "Flag Display" honoring the victims of Sept, 11th, 2001. I was able to interview Chris Garcia , president emeritus of the College Republicans. Chris is a very positive, energetic, Pepperdine student. This is his second year leading this "Wave of Flags: Commemorating 911 Event". They are offering a place to stop and honor those lost and a place to pray and comfort the families that are left behind. Tom Burnett, alumnus of the Gaziadio School of Business and Management was a passenger on United Airlines flight 93. His attempt along with other passengers on this flight helped divert the plane from reaching the terrorists' target. United flight 93 crashed into a field in Pennsylvania instead....... saving many lives at the loss of theirs.
There is  no way to capture the power of seeing 3,000 flags wrapping around the Pepperdine campus, waving in the wind, knowing that each Flag represented a life lost. In addition to the American Flag , multi national flags will be on display honoring the different nationalities of those who died during the attacks.

I don't think any of us will ever forget that haunting moment in time, where we froze, as we tried to grasp the unbelievable tragedy that occurred for the victims as well as our nation.

    May they rest in Peace.
