Nancy's No. 1 fan |
Keith's Memorial
I, Rhonda Drennon, am by far Nancy’s #1 fan! I recently traveled to Valdosta, Georgia and to the Valdosta State University baseball field to get a picture of Keith’s memorial for Nancy. I had watched Nancy’s heart wrenching story on Larry King Live years ago and again recently and also read an article about her horrific ordeal in “Guidepost” magazine. While reading her book Objection, I relived this experience with her again as well. I have never heard Nancy mention a memorial being erected in Keith’s memory, and I wanted her to know his memory lives on for others as well. Because I am Nancy’s #1 fan, I wanted her to have these pictures and know of this beautiful memorial that others will view daily forever.
There are numerous other reasons that I should be chosen Nancy’s #1 fan. There are eerie similarities between Nancy and me. My husband, Raymond, and I are both graduates of Valdosta State College and Valdosta State University, and he was also a member of the Valdosta State baseball team. He has a degree in Criminal Justice and is a Captain with our local police department, so we both enjoy the fact the Nancy is a prosecutor! I watch her show every night. There is no one else that is in a victim’s corner like Nancy. I appreciate the fact that she doesn’t allow her guests to dance around the questions with their answers. I teach reading to 7th and 8th grade at-risk students. Being given the freedom to choose what is best for my students, I use literature that hopefully helps these students in their lives. In the past, I have chosen to visit with students and their parents or guardians in their homes. I know Nancy had plans of becoming a high school literature teacher before those tragic events changed her life forever. While reading her book Objection, I could relate to her feelings and fears while visiting certain areas but also at the same time experience the feelings of appreciation. I want to make a difference in students’ lives in what I do like Nancy makes a difference in lives in what she does.
I admire Nancy for “making it” in a man’s profession when it was so uncommon for females to work in the area of law. She has not just “made it”, she has become extremely successful. This has to be due to her Christian faith that she is not afraid to profess.
She and I both are very patriotic, and I can’t think of a better ending to her show than the tribute she gives to the soldiers killed while fighting in Iraq.
Because of the reasons given, I am Nancy’s #1 fan and this has got to be your #1 choice!! It is sincere, unique, and from the heart! Good night friend!
Rhonda Drennon
( I plan to also put more of these pictures that I took for her on her facebook page as well).
