Silence ! Listen... Listen well... Don't you here like heartbeat-sound ? You'd say it comes from underneath this sculpture... This is "Ecoute" ("Listen"), a sculpture created by Henry Miller. An american artist, who has lived in Paris, and has past away in 1980 in california. He left behind this work for the parisians, who invite you to silence. It's layes out on the René Cassin square, next to the Saint-Eustache church. Children like to escalate it and by-passers wonder what it actualy represents... It's an anonymous persons' head, out of Burgundy sandstone, that weighs seventy tons. He , or she, holds the right-hand to the ear in order to listen to the sound coming from underneath. This sculpture is centered very precisely in the middle of the city. So, next time you're around, make a detour here, and come listen to the heartbeat of Paris, or go to my blog to see much more of parisian sights and sounds : http://hansparis.blogspot.com
