Tea Party In Houston, TX (Interview With Unemployed Veteran)

I attended a Tea Party in Houston, TX at Just-A-Bar pub. All attendees were friendly, engaged, and welcoming. One issue that stood out was the disdain for the government. In the various interviews I did as well as the taping of the event, I tried to ascertain if this disdain in their view was post election of Obama or otherwise.

This interview is with a veteran who is unemployed. She faught in both Iraq wars and as far as she knows even haven served her country does not have support in this tough economy.

Government under each party have failed many because folks like this veteran can fall through the cracks even after serving the country. This creates an opening to the belief that government is all bad and it is this that many LEADERs in the Right Wing have used to convince many of these people at these tea parties to have a visceral hate for the government even in instances when government is the entity that should be capable of having the best answer.
