    Manners 101

Kanye West behavior wrapped up a week of how not to behave in public or private. He was no better or worse than the rest: Serena Williams and Congressman Wilson. The lesson from all of them is pretty simple: even if you disagree to last fiber of your being, learn to channel that anger and frustration into doing something productive. Mr. West probably learned his lesson when he was physically escorted from the building. Then Beyonce won an award for video of the year. So, safe to say whatever his concerns were they have been laid to rest.

At the dinner table we often discuss events that occur in the news, at least the ones that are PG. This past week has been plethora of lessons. The kids’ reaction to discover someone had called the President a liar was almost comical. Daniel’s eyes almost popped out his skull. James shook his head saying. “That’s not right.” Alexis made the face: I don’t wanna know happen to him (Mr. Wilson). The kids know never to argue with the ref, you will only cause more damage. However nothing like having a star athlete pegged with a 10,000 dollar fine that drives the point home. The kids don’t know much about Kanye West, but they do know if you have had too much to drink and then don’t pay attention to what’s going on your chances increase on doing something incredibly stupid.

The great thing about having a week like this is that I don’t have to make up stories to prove me right. Learning a bit of self control can go a long way. A lesson one hopes the a fore mention people will take to heart.
