Share a memory of Patrick Swayze

    PANCREATIC CANCER SURVIVOR

I cried tonight when I found out the Patrick Swayze had died. Over the last year and a half I battled Pancreatic Cancer and I am one of the true blessed people that has survived. I was lucky enough for early detection and also I had a different form of the cancer ( neuroendocrine tumor) than Patrick, I had the same kind that Steve Jobs had. We both had the Whipple Procedure done. My surgery was a success at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore with a wonderful top of his field surgeon, Dr. Eckhauser. I am also one year cancer free!! We need more research for early detection. My heart cries for him and for so many other people currently going through treatment and also for those who have not survived this horrible disease.
