    Egypt neglected...

I have lived in Egypt for four months and am astounded by the Health care, hospitals, and overall care for the country and its people. I travel daily throughout the city and see starving people and animals everywhere. The Country is ran by Pres. Mubarak and unfortunately he is to busy pocketing money to be worried about cleaning up the streets of Egypt.  I will share more photos regarding the streets of egypt in a later post.

Many people will see a trash can on the street and drop their trash where they stand as if they have no common sense to walk two feet and throw it away.  The police are filled with corruption because their government pays them very little everymonth to support themselves and their family.  Who could live off 400 Egyptian Pounds equal to 80 dollars or so. A doctor visit alone in this country is 90EGP, a good meal for a family of two (husband and wife) will cost a mere 20 Egyptian Pounds, and if something happens and one of these guys that is delivery guy gets stopped by the police for any number of odd rediculous reasons may have to pay 500 LE to not go to jail for driving without a License.

Egypt remains number one in the world for car accidents that cause deaths. I can now see why,  the people here have no rules, no laws, and worse no one to tell them to stop.  Daily people die from driving 150kilometers an hour past a police officer who is to busy peeing on the side of the road or sitting down in the shade.  The only time there are police enforcements and then it doesnt even work fully is at the daily/nightly check points.  A democracy all right. The people of Egypt dont vote on their president! He has been in rule for 30 years!!!! when will an election be that isnt fixed. Why wont someone step in and say stop!  Because it isnt our place. However, we do have a President now that has a good head on his shoulders in the United States, who could influence Hosney Mubarak to change his ways. Because the next in line for the "THRONE" is his son! NOT A PRESIDENCY IN MY MIND!

Secondly, how many people have seen a Ministry of health that has 2 inches of dirty piled up on its walls???? or a hospital that has dirty in the surgical room or people that are homeless sitting inside the closets at the hospital.  There are no shelters for these people. No Governmental aid except free horrible health care. On top of that a Doctor in this country makes starting out in his career a mere 160 EGYPTIAN POUNDS!!! Less then a police officer and less then someone in Administration. I was astounded by this. I am a person who thinks we should respect those trying to help but this is just pitiful!

Can someone do something? Can our Government help turn around the government here?  Can they persuade Hosny Mubarak to give up some of the Millions of Pounds he is pocketing to help his country? I seriously doubt it but why not give it a shot!!!!
