JURY DUTY...SERVE OR AVOID IT? WHY?
My oldest daughter telephoned me informing me that she had received a document saying she was selected for jury duty. I explained to her that this was an honor and her duty. Her reply was that none of her other friends had ever served on a jury. I asked her to complete the questionnaire and return it. I also let her know that there was a possibility that she may not even be chosen to serve.
So my thought is…is jury duty still considered honorable? Or is it viewed more as an interruption into our fast paced lifestyles.
If you received the questionnaire would you complete it with hopes that you are picked or would you began to think of every reason you could state that would exempt you from serving.
