(#1 pic l-r : Four Star General Bill Livsey,  Dr. Livsey from Maine, and Livsey family president ,Tom Livsey)
All stood and saluted---Georgia's Four Star General Bill Livsey celebrated his 77th birthday yesterday, during his family's reunion at the Milam Park in Clarkston, Ga.
He was the Commander-in-Chief in Korea, Commander-in-Chief of the United Nations Armed Forces and the Commander of the 8th Army in Vietnam.
He was a consultant to both President Reagan and President George Bush Sr., before he retired.
Only a handful of retired Generals maintain his four stars after active service. Four-Star General Bill Livsey is one of them.
Yesterday in good health and great spirit, he opened the Livsey Family Reunion with a prayer of peace and understanding.
In over 170 years, this just the second time that the white Livseys' invited their black Livsey cousins to attend their celebration.
There were Livseys'  from as north as Maine and as south as Florida. It was well attended perhaps a little over 200 people showed up.
Yet, the most amazing thing that happened was that the General nominated his black cousin,  Tom Livsey to become the president for the White and  Black Livseys'  family functions into the future.
    “We are the Livseys"
For the first time this past summer, the white and black Livseys celebrated a family reunion together. It was a wonderful occasion.", exclaimed the new Livsey President, named Tom.
The new Livsey president added, " No one owed no one an explanation or excuse for the past. No animosity. No guilt.
The only thing each and everyone of us left with, was a whole new family tree. How about that?  Since then, we have become one family.”
Tom was elated and surprised by such warmth and love, by his new family.
"From here on out, the Livseys' are truly just one family --no more black or white, and we will be recognized only as such---One family---"The Livseys' ", whichh the Livsey shield from Lancashire, England, means:  "The protectors of the island "  acknowledges, President Livsey.
