World's Largest Baby Day 4 - It Has A Head!
This was definitely a breech delivery, three days before the World's Largest Baby's head appeared. I just returned from the front lines and the Lilliputians were working up a storm to get as much done as possible before sunset.
Jonathan's assistant who offered to come all the way from Sweden for this event was seen holding rope attached to the head from the roof. Christine Bolles was waiting at the third floor window for the okay from artist to let go of the hoists. Jonathan Haner, the artist who visualized and is now making this concept a reality is in the neck of the baby all at The B.O.B, Grand Rapids largest bar and restaurant.
It was quite a spectacle and we can't wait until the head is filled. I don't think anyone could really grasp how much foam it takes to fill a three story baby until the work actually started. Matt Richards, Sue Lott, Debra Doran, and other voluteers were furiously filling bags and sending them from the under the stage to the top to fill the body. While I was there many passersby came to ask about the project and commented on how amazingly large it is.
The team hoped to finish this evening and they still might, we have a few more hours of daylight. If not it will be finished tomorrow for certain. I will continue to keep you posted on the progress.
