This iReport is part of an assignment:
Atlanta area flooding |
Marietta GA : Columns Drive Marooned !
22nd September, 2009:
The afternoon outpour on Monday, brought more woes to the residents of the Columns Drive area.Totally cut-off from the rest of the city, many residents watched the water levels with a hope that roads become accesible once again.By evening the entrance to the River Heights complex was flooded, further confining the residents within their complex.
By 2:00 PM most of the area was without electricity. The rains have stopped.By Tuesday morning the flood water on the bridge had cleared. However, columns drive was still inundated at a number of places with upto 4-5 feet of water.Drivers should be careful as couple of sedans were found submerged in water. It is suggested to take the Paper Mill Rd and Atlanta country club Rd, if you intend to visit someone in this area.
