This iReport is part of an assignment:
Sydney dust storm |
Dust storm, Brisbane, Australia 23rd Sept
Brisbane was coated in dust today. The dust storm travelled here from inland Australia. After hitting Sydney overnight and early this morning the dust travelled up to cover Brisbane from around about lunch time.
The first video shows what it was like from the back of my house. In the background there is usually a large watertower visible. This tower is usually visible for kilometres - today it was invisible behind the dust cloud!
The second video is the view from the front of the house. I live by Moreton Bay and I usually am able to see the blue waters of the bay and the southern end of Moreton Island out in the bay. Today you wouldn't even believe there is a bay out there.
Everything tastes and smells of dust. Lucky I didn't wash my hair this morning, it would have been a waste of time. :)
