44 years of Halloween Costumes
October 30, 2010
Happy Halloween Everyone,
Halloween is a fun time of the year when people dress up as movie and television characters, their hero's, and sometimes, people dress up for the period of time, such as I did in in either 1967 or 1968 as a Hippie.
In the '60s, it was a time of innocence, a time when we trusted everyone because we thought everyone was good. Going from home to home was no problem, and the bags of candy we collected was unbelievable!
Through the years, I continued to dress up for Halloween because it was plain fun. Many of my costumes, I designed myself, had no pattern, and I did the stitching myself . . . to include the time I created the Black Widow Spider Costume.
I honestly think the costumes that I had to work through were my favorites ones. I learned not to give up and to continue on until I found a solution. In a way, I think I actually stretched my brain thinking of solutions.
I have since moved on to other creative outlets, like painting portraits, but when I look back at each Halloween costume in the photographs, I am happy that I created them.
You can see more of my costumes at: http://www.artmajeur.com/index.php?go=artworks/display_mini_gallery&login=pdrapala&mini_gallery_id=1298611&artist_id=4912
Enjoy the photographs!
Peace and love to all always,
Pamela Carvajal Drapala
