Being An Army, Injuried Male Spouse, What's It's like
Being an Army, injuried male spouse with my wife deployed to Afghansistan sense July 12. It has not been easy for me, espically being injuried. I spend days going to doctors, "Hperbaric Oxygen Therapy", and physical therapy.
I stay lonely. The people here at the end of Normandy Rd are not friendly at all. I mean, I am the only male spouse around and the female spouse's army husbands have not deployed yet. I have tried speaking to them to make friends but have failed. I mean, they know I am crippled and act like they don't care. I just as well be living out in the country, really! It's as if I am the only male spouse at Fort Carson. I am able to keep this apartment clean but, it's hard. I do a little at a time. I do get calls from home now and then and from my army camera man but that's about it.
No one comes to visit to say "hello". It appears if I am not able to go back Louisiana for Christmas, It's going to be the loneliness Christmas I will ever have had.
