Helping neighbors find a job
On August 31, HireNeighbors' launched its first exclusive job fair in Fairburn, Georgia. It was a hit! A front page news article in the South Fulton Neighbor newspaper (August 26) spread the word. Over 200 job seekers responded. For crowd-control purposes, 102 job seekers were pre-registered, 86 showed up. Four companies were present. Chick-fil-A provided coupons for a free chicken sandwich. Fairburn's Mayor Hannah and the City Manager provided the Fairburn Annex building for the event. Each job seeker received valuable information and a list of twelve companies that had numerous employment opportunities. WSB-TV and 11Alive News stopped by to film a story. According to 11Alive News Reporter Chris Sweigart, "What it lacked in size it made up for in community spirit". The second successful event was
September 23 in Peachtree City, Georgia. A third event is already in the works!
