This iReport is part of an assignment:
'Gourmet' meals at home |
Shrimp and Other Healthy Recipes
I have always been interested in healthy eating and quality recipes. One thing that was always missing from my cookbooks was the nutritional information on the recipes I love. So, I started working on my own recipes while at the same time putting together a website dedicated to healthy eating called healthy2nite. The website will tell you how many calories are in your recipes and can be found at http://healthy2nite.com/
I love photography as well, so whenever I make a good meal, I grab the camera and take some pictures before I eat it.
Now I am begining to get a pretty good archive of low calorie recipes that are healthy for you. I learned how to make my recipes healthier in the process because I see how each food item changes the nutritional value as I add it. I have learned neat tricks such as substituting apple sauce for oil or draining my beans to reduce salt content.
Overall its been a great experience to learn more about food. Plus, all my recipes are together and have neat pictures like a cookbook!
