Obama is awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. The Nobel Peace Prize should recognize a person who has accomplished highly significant and impactful humanitarian events.   His name was submitted months ago under the nomination deadline.  By then, all he had done was nominate some income tax evaders for cabinet positions, and made some apologetic phone calls to Arab heads of state.  He had done nothing of a humanitarian nature.  It used to mean something to receive the award.  When any person or group is recognized with an award that has not been earned, the award is permanently cheapened.  Now it's laughable. It has forever been cheapened.  What were these people thinking?   There have been Nobel Peace Prize nominees whose names were withdrawn by the person nominating them before the voting began.  Too bad this did not happen in this case.
