I have struggled a long time with my feelings about the 911 attack on America
The day of the attacks ....I wrote this song

It has held the #1spot for my local area on reverb nation 4 weeks now. Reverb Nation is a popular Performing Artist promotional site
first launched by Facebook . "I was Both Surprised and flattered by this "'
"911 Let Freedom Ring" was one of those songs that just came to me .A gift .
I am very happy with it and the reaction to it from others .
.MY best advice is ....WRITE your own songs and PLAY an instrument!..otherwise,You Won't survive in THIS biz!...Even then It is a long shot!

Recently , i have discovered the Internet and a whole new world
of opportunity and creativity has opened up to me . I do miss performing because i miss the people . I AM A PEOPLE PERSON .But there has to be a way to perform and still have a somewhat 'private "life and keep your sanity ?
If someone has the exact formula will you email it to me ASAP ...smiles
Someone recently pointed out the similarities between My song and "independence day" written by Gretchen peters .similar yes but different
Let's see 1. They have a different melody , musical arrangement ,tempo,time signature,rhythm ,Instruments...Even the story line ..itself.......
" Independence day "is about a woman who is in an abusive relation ship.
The woman sees no other way to escape her abuse but to set their home on fire with him in it.She chooses the day of the 4th of july and after she sets the house on fire
she takes her daughter to the county fair to celebrate their independence .
I understand that some people are not "lyric people "
Others pick up on a few key lines That stick with them and mistakenly think that a title
or single phrase in a song can hold an exclusive copy right.
for the most part this is not true..
The Phrase" Let freedom Ring "has been Used many times over the years ..in many songs one of those being our national anthem..(google it)
The song title is not as important ...as the songs body itself
the sum total of differences is what decides if a composition can( legally )
hold a copyright by the standards set by the laws and library of congress for musical compositions .Mine was accepted and exclusive copyright certified .

I believe anyone who wishes to be a PROFESSIONAL
WRITER of any kind should feel writing is a serious Business!
Don't just write songs you think have marketing potential.
The ability to express ourselves and communicate Is one of our Most powerful gifts !
Sometimes this can also be your worst enemy .In my case it is a little of both.
I communicate best through my music and performing .
I am awful to the point of being handicapped when i try to express myself
in my day to day interactions.
My brain just isn't wired to respond quickly to questions or to multifunction.
Is better for me to have a quiet place and write my thoughts down on paper
It has been proven by psychological studies
that Most artistic people are "wired" this way.
This fact as well as the media being unpredictable is why I fear personal interviews or negotiations or signing .a Major contract .But I have no fear when it comes to performing
Some artist decide to let their music speak for itself!I can think of several who would have been much better off if they had .
The laws in the US allow the media to destroy people based on rumors !
To understand one would have to look no further than the Michael Jackson Story .
...The creative decisions SHOULD ALWAYS BE LEFT UP TO THE ARTIST.
THEY will be the one dealing with the consequences a bad career move can have on their life.Rarely is an artist blessed enough to be successful and not have to evercome Many challenges.As a songwriter and performer ,
It is becoming increasingly difficult to find a way to say the "same ole thing"
in a different way .... A way that moves people Without using some common lines.
With Today's information Technology it is even harder to secure your song
if you manage to write something you consider decent .
For this reason when someone compliments my songwriting it means more
than if someone compliments my singing ability.
For me singing is so natural it feels wrong to accept any praise for it . It isn't work, I didn't DO anything
I Just open my mouth and share my feelings my interpretations of some lyrics
add harmony,It's like breathing .It doesn't feel like work at all..
There isn't any thing that brings me more joy
or any place i feel more comfortable than on stage or in a studio singing,
It has ALWAYS been this way for me .For as long as i can remember .
Having talent is simply a GIFT from God .
I have met my share of entertainers over the years and I am always amazed
when One doesn't seem to realize... .They are nothing with out their supporters!
Every one is replaceable ..and the wise ones know this .

when i think of War and the battle between good and Evil
or even the meaning of life , I think OF GOD....
Although his children may be suffering,now ...
WE are in fact GOD's ARMY...
fighting for what's right and what's wrong.
FOR Justice and closure for innocent victims
Not just here In America but the entire world .
EVIL Schemes and plans are created each and every day
By other children of GOD who are lost or have been Mislead
They have decided to joined the Evil Powers that be ...

WITH this song I tried to build upon Gretchen's song
I hoped people would associate the two songs
But Recognize mine as a different work And for the most part everyone has .
I hoped to pay tribute to her song and to those who lost their lives on 911
For me this was a challenge
much harder than just writing some lyrics from scratch and
adding a cool arrangement .
Working alone as I have done in recent years with no ones creative input many times
I have wondered just what i could accomplish if i were surrounded by people like myself, on a regular basis .
But for the most part that ended when i moved to Las vegas.
I really miss those days when i was surrounded my adopted "musical family "

"YES there are times we Must fight to survive... times it MAY be necessary.
But I believe , when all is said and done there is only ONE Battle that we should be focused on...
ONLY one Revolution , that truly matters...and ONLY ONE FINAL Judgement day.;;;
The day ALL People will be Judged by THE (ONLY) JUDGE and There is only One TRUE..... INDEPENDENCE DAY......
The DAY GOD calls HIS CHILDREN HOME!
