Nile Valley Before the Slide
My wife and I were travelling on holidays through the Nile Valley from Mt Rainier to Yakima on September 20th, 2009. We were were stopped for road construction delays for almost an hour, along with what ended up being a long line of other vehicles, right under the area where the recent massive slide on Route 410 in Washington State recently came down. The out-of-focus image of the traffic lineup was taken into the rear-view mirror out of boredom, and although the picture did not turn out it shows only a small number of the vehicles in the lineup. All I can say is it's fortunate the slide came down on a presumably empty highway instead of then with stopped vehicles along the entire slide area.
