This iReport is part of an assignment:
Fix our schools |
Free internet...at home.
Many times I have watched my children use the internet at home for school work. Many times, without the computer, my children wouldn't be able to complete the homework.
I wonder at those times what I would have done if I was in their shoes today, because my family of 9 was way to poor to even have a phone in the house. My dad worked at GM, (you know the ones making $75 an hour, yeah right!) too. I would get failed grades because I couldn't afford the internet let alone a computer. How do these kids with parents struggling to put food on their table, do their homework? The library, I've used. Yes that is one way if you can get there in time before they close and if they aren't all being used. Sometimes the work takes hours and there is a time limit at the library.
I say internet should be FREE. If not free in the school tax to allow all kids to have access to a computer. That would be one way of improving the quality of our childrens education.
Another teach trades in school but that will be a later post.
