This iReport is part of an assignment:
Stories from Second Life |
Hello, i´ve been waiting for you
Change and Crisis, a selective process in nature and our life or "The birth of the green society" (according to Graves)
Mr. Yona Friedman´s life stations are Hungary, Haifa and France; in a time Kingdoms and Superpowers did rise to power and went back to dust. This changes challenged Yona Friedman´s mind and he developed the concept of the "Spatial City" for a future society. Second Life is the perfect platform for the development of creative buildings as same as an experimental platform for human behaviour.
A basic idea of "Spatial City" is; that citizens share there knowledge, common goods and develop a peaceful mindset. A revolutionary idea to his time and
a concept that influenced generations of architects. Today we find this idea already widely used in Second Life with Free Citizen support groups like NCI or Human Rights groups like Rawa.org.
Can the concept, despite best intentions, solve everything? The answer is a clear - no, it can´t. The "Spatial City" is for people that woke up and stretch there hands out for peace and cooperation with a mindset of respect for different ways of life. The idea of Mr. Friedman is too big for people who love to fight if the neighbors cactus should be a bit more to the left or to the right.
I´ve been waiting for you at this great place, come and see a place created by a marvelous spirit and his supporters. You see an empty spot ? It is yours, come and fill this place with your creativity.
