    More from halemalu

you are all barking up the wrong tree!

have you ever thought that  the problems in our economy could be resolved by giving incentives locally and giving a hands-up to local entrepreneurs? not just thousands, but millions of local products, made in the U.S., would be available. little businesses would grow and employ a few people each.

but here is what stands in the way: landlords in commerical zoning. to lease a shop or warehouse is prohibitive to most self starters. ( a store front can run from 5000.- to 25000.- a month) making you sign a lease.

many opt to start from home. and there is a zoning law against it. the liability insurance issue comes up. there are jealous snoops all over the place telling you what you can do, or not. it took some little retail businesses almost a year to get a permit. a brand new restaurnat took years before being able to open beause of paperwork.

WE ARE LEGALLY STIFLED from eking out a living. and that is the bottomline, not what is republican, democrat or whatever. look at what your mayor and council's biased agenda are. do you even know these people? do you even vote in the local elections? they are almost all pro-big business and don't want you to be a competition.  and this is where the problem really is. so, good luck trying to start "psssst!" out of your basement.
