Finding romance on the road |
Highland Fling
Longing for a holiday to be free, I was invited to a wedding in Scotland. As soon as I departed the airplane I immediately fell in love with the scottish accent.
I attended the wedding at a beautiful park in the Glasgow area and durning the dance in walks a man in full kilt attire.
He had piercing green eyes and the broadest shoulders to my dismay I was blushing!! I knew he was interested however I was here on a one in a life time trip and wanted to see as much as I could before going home to children, work and other daily commitments.
The next day I was walking down the stairs and the highlander was walking up the stairs luck would have it he wanted a chat, we sat on the stairs for like hours. The following night at the party, arranged for quest who couldn't make the wedding, the highlander spoke to my travelling friends and decided he was going to be our tour guide for the highlands which we were visiting later that week.
I took the train and he met me with a soul shattering kiss.
For three wonderful days he showed me the highlands and castles. Alas it was time to go back to reality. I said goodbye at the airport thinking I will never be back and never see the highlander again.
Well, he had other ideas with a surprise visit to the US and kept coming back until he proposed. We were married at Borthwick Castle four years ago and have travelled the world. My highlander is one in a millon. I have since relocated to the highlands and he has made my tranisition pretty easy. I couldn't live without him.
True love on holiday..
