Draw the Dog connects human and dogs worldwide

Years ago, Jim George was an animator at Disney, working through many levels of corporate vetting to create compelling characters that touched people's hearts. Today he works directly with his audience.

DrawtheDog.com is the website George created along with co-founder Bruce Kasanoff. It publishes one dog cartoon a day, each one inspired by a story submitted about a real dog. Owners share stories through the Make Your Dog Famous section of the site.

The site is a little over one month old, and it has already attracted visitors from 42 countries, all united by their love of dogs.

This a story about what happens when you let families share their stories directly with the "talent," and when the talent gets to publish anything he or she thinks those families will enjoy most. In this case, the result is pure fun.

"The best part of this experience," says Jim George, "Are the emails we get back from owners when we write to say today’s cartoon was inspired by their dog. They are utterly thrilled. I love the kinds of people who are coming to Draw the Dog. Based upon their emails and comments, they seem like wonderful, down-to-earth folks."
