Graveline Cemetery Tour Brings History Alive...
Cuba, MO is a small town of 3500 and has heard its share of "this sure is a dead town" remarks. But on Sunday, October 18, the local beautification organization Viva Cuba brought the dead to life duriing a Kinder Cemetery "Echoes from the Past" Trolley Tour.
This event occurred during the annual Cuba Fest, always the third weekend of October.
Historical characters, who were buried in the Kinder Cemetery, were resurrected for one day. Dressed in their historical dress, they met the Trolley Tour, boarded, and told history from their viewpoint.
Tourers were entertained with the character's and learned some details of local history that they didn't know.
For the full story and a selection of photos follow the story at cubamomurals.com/wordpress/?p=1315 at the Viva Cuba organization's blog.
By now, a quiet repose has revisited the rural cemetery along Route 66, but next year, the trolley rolls, and dead men (an women) walk in the sequel thriller "Echoes from the Past" II.
