"Afghanistan outside the wire" BY VOLUNTEER MEDICS TEAM AFGHANISTAN 2009
Kabul, Afghanistan
Volunteer Medics Worldwide shares just bit of what they have seen in more than three years on the ground and outside the wire in Afghanistan.
In the first video Gerald Scott Flint films a real security threat as a man with a very heavy cart with wires and cables hanging from it passes through the security check point without a glance from more than 6 Afghan Military Police. The area is home to the Afghan Ministry of Interior, The Indian Embassy, Mustafa Hotel Compound and other important buildings. This video was shot in April of 2009 and in September bombers got through and blasted the Indian Embassy and Ministry of Interior killing and wounding scores there.
RESCURE = Rescue and Cure A term used by Flint often in Afghanistan
The other video and photos are taken whilst VMW Team 2009 treat hundreds of civilians in IDP camps around Afghanistan in 2009.
