    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     ealfredo ran into this artist September 24, telling me, 'I was struck by the fact that he painted with sand. I got to talking to him and he spent an amazing amount of time on a piece. I love the fact that they're so colorful, that drew my attention initially.'

    Joe Mangrum is a street artist who paints with sand on the sidewalks of Manhattan. He can spend up to 9 hours creating a piece, only to sweep it all up when he's done.
