My idea of a "Public Option" means exactly that, something that members of the public can choose to pick from a list of potential insurance companies. Unfortunately the more I listen to the argument the more I begin to wonder if the words will eventually have about as much credibility as "Military Intelligence" has when ever those who have been in the military speak amongst themselves about their direct superiors. I admit like a lot of people I have a limited amount of comprehension when it comes to the inner machinations of the process of finding a bill that everyone will be happy with but I am certain that the more you talk about something with out actually accomplishing any thing the more people lose interest in what you're saying. Is it any wonder most Americans have no faith in their elected representatives on both sides of the aisle when they'd rather have press conferences to tell us what the other side is not doing than what they have actually done themselves that benefits the electorate? The "Public Option" I'd really like to have is one that gives the public the opportunity to tell politicians exactly how they truly feel about the job they aren't doing.
