This iReport is part of an assignment:
Living with autism |
water, water everywhere.
My autistic son has a water obsession. He flooded the bathroom of our previous house no less than 3 or 4 times. He likes to make his dollies swim in the sink, bathtub, kiddie pool, and fountain.Even though some might consider this a "stim", it relaxes him and brings him joy. He squeals with delight when we take him swimming. When a character in a book or on t.v. goes swimming he grins from ear to ear. Having an autistic child can make for a more challenging life, but it has taught me to live day by day and appreciate all of our differences.
