My City, My Secret |
Why Penny Can't Sell Her Home - Kansas City, MO
My friend, Penny, wants to sell her house but needs help from city government. She lives next door to a very rundown property that is depreciating hers by the day.
Neighbors are frustrated with the lack of care of 3915 Terrace. The next door neighbor, Penny, is currently leasing her home to tenants. The appearance of her neighbor's home is so poor that the only feedback she heard from prospective buyers is that they love her home but refuse to live next to the eyesore of the neighborhood. Penny is angry and I can't blame her.
Penny reports that over a year ago approximately city officials were notified about her neighbors' roof issue and lack of yard care being performed on a routine basis.
Penny has a beautiful maintained home and like many homeowners in the United States are tired of depreciating home values due to foreclosures, dated comps, and unmaintained homes.
We all have personal setbacks in our lifetime but if you are unable to care for your home anymore it is time to consider alternative living arrangements. When you don't maintain your property, it affects everyone around you who work hard to own a home.
Someone please help my friend, Penny, get this issue resolved! It is obvious that her neighbor needs an intervention for one reason or another.
