    Remembering Tim Russert

    A rare voice of trust

I've been a follower of Tim Russert's insiteful commentary on America's political arena ever since he first began on Meet the Press back in 1991. As anyone who follows the many twists and turns of partisan political actions, inactions, debates, comments and escapades that inform or misinform those of us in the peanut gallery; it can be a daunting task to sort it all out. That's what Tim did. He sorted it out for us and more. He gave us the truth.

When "facts" are often twisted into the most amazing of shapes to suit whoever happens to be presenting them, Tim Russert sifted through these and brought the  complex issues into sharp clarity. Perhaps the one thing that impresses me most is something which unfortunately is sadly lacking in many areas of journalism today: Trust. You knew when you listened to Tim that what you were hearing was the truth as best he knew it to be, devoid of hype and hyperbole.

    His voice will be missed.
