This iReport is part of an assignment:
Extreme Halloween |
Howl-o-ween at the Dog Park
Halloween Day, 2009, saw a role-switch, of sorts: dogs wore costumes while their people wore street clothes.
It was the day of the second annual Howl-o-ween at Murphy Memorial Dog Park. For a donation of $5 per dog, people brought their dogs to party and show off their Halloween finery. Receipts were split between the Humane Society of Rogers, Arkansas, and Murphy Memorial Dog Park.
Easily, 200+ women, men and children packed the dog park with as many dogs, including some shelter dogs from the Humane Society. Also in attendance were vendors, vetrinarians, dog-sitters and dog-goody makers all hawking their wares and offering free samples.
Saturday, October 31 was a beautiful, blue-sky day with fairly warm temperatures. It was such a wonderful change from the almost constant rain of the past month! Everyone was in tremendously happy!
