Trail in the Himalayas
- hhanks, CNN iReport producer
A trail cuts the snow with snow covered Himalayan mountains in the background.
This shot was taken a few hundred yards below Kala Pattar, a great viewing spot to see the summit of Everest. Kala Pattar is over 18,000 ft and is the closest view of the Summit of Everest, without actually being on the summit.
I spent 8 months in Southeast Asia, (6 months teaching English, 2 months traveling) and the trip to Kala Pattar to witness Everest up close was the climax of my 8 months and my last destination before returning home.
The trail down from Kala Pattar (seen in the picture) was beginning the long trip back home, and I was so lucky that it was so beautiful.
