This iReport is part of an assignment:
Signs of the economic times |
Wachovia Bank still gouging consumers with high fees
Today I checked my Wachovia checking a/c online and saw that they had put through 13 (!!) Debit card transactions overnight, then charged me $455.00 in overdraft fees, then put thru a Credit of $500.00 to my a/c leaving my a/c more overdrawn than ever.
When I called them and told the operator (Meran) that I saw on CNN that Wells Fargo (their parent) was going to limit overdraft fees to 4 in a day, he said that was not true. Then he offered me a refund of $68.00 !!!
My State of NC paycheck goes thru that bank every month and that's all they could offer me! I'm so angry and frustrated with banks gouging consumers of the little money they do have in this hard economy. I'm fed up and I'm not gonna take it anymore!
