North Carolina's Duplin Winery Has Largest FaceBook Following of All Wineries World Wide!
It's hard to believe, but it is true. A winery that jump started the burgeoning wine industry in North Carolina has surpassed the industry's powerhouse brands and holds the position of NUMBER ONE winery Facebook page. With an increase of about 100 members per day, Duplin Winery continues to see fans not only actively participating on the site, but new people discovering their cool, sweet, and easy wines created from the healthful and native Muscadine grape.
Prior to prohibition, North Carolina was the United States' number one producer of wines and Muscadine wine was the best selling wine in the country. As prohibition hit, North Carolina lost its place in the winemaking industry only to be jump started in the early 1970's by the Fussell family who started Duplin Winery. For over 30 years, Duplin Winery has been producing wine made from Muscadine grapes. Muscadine wines (both red and white) contain 10+ times the resveratrol when compared with any other wine in the world.
Over the past thirty years, Duplin Winery has made strident efforts to help other wineries in North Carolina find their place. They have also made an effort to assist agricultural growth in helping farmers transition from tabacco to Muscadines, which Duplin has valued as a 'gold' crop for decades.
People across the country are starting to discover Duplin's Muscadine wines, that are cool, sweet, and easy. Facebook has been a wonderful way for fans across the country to connect and be a part of the Duplin Winery family. The winery's social media success has not gone unnoticed, and has been noted in industry publications, social blogs and regional magazines.
Along with their social media success, this North Carolina winery has found sales success and this year was recognized with two industry awards - Impact Hot Brand Award and Fast Track Brand Award. These short lists traditionally feature wineries that are corporately owned/managed and located in the western or european winemaking regions. Duplin Winery is the first winery outside of those traditional regions to receive the honors.
Duplin Winery is a family of firsts and there is no stopping their tenacity, perseverance and desire to make a great product. For three generations, Duplin Winery has been through good times and bad, struggled and brought success to an industry in North Carolina, bringing up many new wineries and farmers along the way.
This is where the Duplin Winery success story lies, and it translates to sales and social media as well. Where larger corporations and wineries focus on their product, Duplin Winery also is dedicated to their extended family - the fans who enjoy and are discovering the award winning Duplin Muscadine Wines.
