    Why SEPTA Sucks

Today, the largest SEPTA union went a "suprise" strike.

Commuters trying to get to their jobs to feed their families affected?

    800,000

The beef?  Transport Workers Union 234 walked out because they were not pleased with an 11.5% pay increase over 5-years, an 11% increase in thier pension contributions and a $1250 signing bonus...  This when millions can't even get a freakin job!

These freaking idiots want more.....  And why?   Because they drive a "special" bus requiring more concentraion and experience the a school bus driver?  No, because they can.

If Comcast employees staged a strike, the idiots would be fired and replaced with hungry and willing to work individuals.  But there is no Comcast Wire Puller union to speak of.  They must "perform" well to keep their job, not hide behind bueracritic bodies that threaten and cause irreputable harm on workers and the companies that employ them.

    Now for the fun.

A bus operator makes between $14.50 and $24.24 per hour plus medical, plus pension and other benefits. $50K per year including benefits and a pension????  Really????

I have seen landscapers work harder and longer with no benefits for $10 per hour and they have much more skill than a SEPTA bus operator.

The unions better begin to understand the NEGATIVE impact these strikes cause on the public and private sectors.  Of couse, this is their bargaining chip to begin with.  Cut off transportation to hundreds of thousands of people so they get fired...  So long as your copay goes down $5.....
