    Yes Democrats lost VA and NJ governorship but they won down the line in NY-23 (a Rep district) and CA (a generally Rep district). In the Carolinas Dems did fine in mayorships. In Houston, the fourth largest city the mayorship will be Democratic. So why the spin?
