Sunny Sunday at Ipanema Beach
Rio de Janeiro is a city that revolves around its beaches. Ipanema Beach is the most popular, crowded, and beautiful stretch of sand the city has to offer. On this sunny winter weekend in September, the city came to the beach, filling every empty space of sand and invading the Atlantic Ocean. This photo was taken from a rock outcrop called Arpoador, which is a favoritie stop for local surfers. From here, one can see all the way across Ipanema to Leblon and the Morro Dois Irmaos (Two Brothers Hill).
