    A real Marine

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     KikoHunniton has shared many interesting stories from the virtual world of Second Life.
    - hhanks, CNN iReport producer

    homage to an unsung Hero

    My picture
The epic movie Full Metal Jacket by Stanley Kubrick as usual a masterpiece by the Grandmaster himself, a movie i can watch several times and still pick up new aspects, find answers just to lose them. The whole movie is as puzzling as the movie poster; where born to kill is written on the helmet beside the peace symbol.

    The real Marine
I talk a while with the perfect gentlemen Agent Strangelove and i am fascinated with his insights and generous personality. Out of the blue he reveals to me he is an Marine and was engaged in heavy battles and under enemy fire. BANG - hello Mr. Kubrick, thank you for this nice flashback! There i stand now speechless beside a real Marine, expecting Gunnery Sergeant Hartmann roaming around  and calling 4 letter words. But the reality looks totally different and Agent Strangelove is a smart, witty and soft spoken person. Yes, he is pride about his service and he will be a Marine for his whole life, as long as he breaths and his heart is willing to pump his flow of life around his body. He was under enemy fire and did shoot back, but without a blink of an eye, he would run through enemy fire to save his friend comrade and brother in arms. Without any doubt he would to the same for me when i would ask for help. No matter if he would face 10 or 100 opponents to fight, for him it is a right cause to assist a Lady that asks for help. Yes, i feel safer; even as i write down this letters i remember and feel the trust and security with him as companion.

His homecoming wasn´t actually that easy. The military gives a security due to there rules, there might be grumpy people in there but a smart guy knows how to get around them. Now this changed for him from one day to another. Is that a problem for an Marine? No way, he found a decent job and liked his work; till the day he got fired because of health problems. Actually he found a job that pays just a little above the minimum wage and the pain from his mangled body is really uncomfortable, to say the least. But still no word or even thought of complain, instead he provides his duties as he would get millions for his job.

Agent Strangelove, you provide your duties above and beyond expectations. Your life is an stunning example for the highest principles a Marine can life for. You provide the Marine Corps,  your country Honor every day and with every task you provide. Agent Strangelove showed exceptional bravery during combat, escaping death and making sure bedroom spy´s don´t taint his convictions.

hereby Agent Strangelove is declared as my personal Hero.
