This iReport is part of an assignment:
Fort Hood shooting |
Fort Hood
I have worked on Ft Campbell, KY, and I know first hand the lack of help that's given to the soldiers. There are some on their 5th tour in the war zones in Iraq because they aren't allowed to get out of the Army due to being needed for war. I guess this prevents the draft. It's still considered a stigma to ask for mental health help or if they do ask they are given the minimal and are punished by not being allowed to work their jobs, having to leave their family, etc. Until the military stops blowing smoke up the media's rear, and admits their lack of support to their troops, then takes their downfall and rebuilds their soldiers, then nothing will ever change.
