Goodbye Video Rental Stores- Hello Red Box Video Machine
You probably have these Red Box Video dispensers in a place near you. Maybe they've been out for a while, I don't know. Watertown, NY has just gotten them in the last year. 6 months ago, I decided to try this and felt I'd share this with everyone.
I have to admit, at first, I was suspicious. Would it grab my account number and empty my bank account? Think that's silly? People I've talked to said they were apprehensive about swiping their card, too.
So I felt better and actually tried it. It sets up an e-mail account to which I get notices when I rent and when I return the DVD. New releases come out when the release date is at Wal-Marts.
I have been told that Net Flix is another good deal and that Blockbuster Video has their own version of this type of machine as well. I haven't seen their's yet. We get things, here in Upstate NY, later than the rest of the world.
So you have the newest movies available. Some of you may find this funny, but it was new to me. I consider myself somewhat technically challenged and my kids would agree especially when it comes to playing the latest X Box 360 game with my sons.
What are all these buttons for, I ask my son, Matt? LOL He just rolls his eyes. I remember Arcade games when they had one control arm and a fire button.Things have changed a lot since the Commodore 64 computer I first owned, wouldn't you agree?
These movies are only one dollar a night and a dollar for each night if you don't return it the next night by 9PM. All in all, I now find this to be convenient. Trying something new isn't always easy. I can empathize with Conservatives who must feel this way everyday.
