    Tim was a journalist's journalist!

    I have been a news director and anchor for NBC affiliates for a decade. So, I was fortunate enough to meet Tim in New York, in 2000. He was there for, of course, his family. He took his son, Luke, to see Britney Spears perform on the "Today Show."

     

    Tim spent time talking with me and he is exactly as we are all hearing him described during the coverage of his death.

     

     

    Tim taught me some important lessons in journalism.

     

     

    Our industry and our world has lost a big one. I cannot imagine no longer hearing Tim say, "If it's Sunday, it's Meet the Press."
