This iReport is part of an assignment:
Fort Hood shooting |
Answer your cellphone--I hear gunshots!
Hello My name is April Webb and I was at Barnes and Nobels when I heard about the incident on Ft.Hood. I just remember my friend Quenette telling me that she was going to a graduation on post. I remember she called me around 1:15-1:30ish and I disregard the call because I was in the middle of a research paper with Kelly my classmate. I think the hardest part about this whole incident was that you just don't know when people are going to snap. I went home around 1:45pm and my husband SFC Webb told me that he was trying to reach me and he was yelling at me because he couldn't get a hold of me because he thought I was on post. In that moment, I didn't know why he was yelling at me and he told me about someone shooting I thought of that phone call from Quenette.
Quenette was fine but she was locked inside the graduation. So now I was stuck at home with her kids and my kids worried. We didn't know what was going to happen so we prayed.
I was even worried because Quenette's husband Major Satterwhite was in Iraq and I had her kids and they asked me, "Where's my mom," I lied, I told them that she had to do a Mary Kay facial.
I was thinking --God bring her home.
I thank God he did
