Can You Imagine These Stars of Yester-year Saying They HATE Our Flag?
As November 11 approaches, please remember the Hollywood Stars who fought for our freedom.
Can you imagine these stars of yester-year saying that they hated our flag? Can you imagine them flying to communist regimes, such as Venezuela and Cuba, to court and rub shoulders with their dictator leaders? Can you imagine them making anti war speeches? Marching in Anti America Parades, and saying that they hate our country? I thought not, neither can I.
The following is a list of just a few of those who served our country with honor.
Clark Gable, although beyond draft age when the U.S. entered World War 2, he enlisted as a private in the AAF. He attended Officer's Candidate School at Miami beach, FL and graduated as a second lieutenant. He flew operational missions in B-17's over Europe.
Charlton Heston. Was in the Army Air Corps.
Ernest Borgnine. Was a U.S. Navy Gunner's mate 1935-1945.
Charles Bronson. Was a tail gunner in B-29's in the 20th Air Force out of Guam,Tinian and Saipan.
George C. Scott Was a decorated U.S. Marine.
Eddie Albert Was a naval Officer and recipient ,of a Bronze Star for aiding marines, at the battle that took place on the Island of Tarawain (Pacific 1943)
Brian Keith Was a U.S. marine rear gunman against the Japanese on Rabal(Pacific)
Lee Marvin Was a U.S. marine at Saipan (recipient of Purple Hear)
John Russell Was a U.S. Marine (1942) and highly decorated for valor, at Guadalcanal
Robert Ryan Was a U.S. marine who served O.S.S. in Yugoslavia
Tyrone Power Was a U.S. marine pilot, flying supplies and wounded out of Iwo Jima and Okinawa
Alec Guinness operated a British Royal Navylanding craft on D Day
James Doolan (Scotty on Star Trek) landed in Normandy with the U.S. on D-Day
Donald Pleasance (The Great Escape and Halloween) really was an R.A.F. Pilot who was shot down, held prisoner and tortured by the Germans.
David Niven Was a Sandhurst graduate, and Lt. Colonel of the British Commandos, in Normandy.
James Stewart started out as a private, and attained the rank of Colonel. During world war 2, he served as a bomber pilot.
...AND last but not least, Audie Murphy was the most decorated serviceman of world war 2.
He received The Medal of Honor, Distinguished Service Cross, 2 Silver Stars, Legion of Merit, 2 Bronze stars with "V", 2 Purple Hearts, U.S. Army Outstanding Civilian Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Four Bronze service stars (representing 9 campaigns) One Bronze Arrowhead (assault landing at Sicily and southern France) WW2 Victory medal, armed forces reserve medal, combat infantry badge, marksman badge with rifle bar, expert badge with bayonet bar.
Sean Penn, Barbra Streisand, Alec Baldwin, Dustin Hoffman, Madonna, Jeannine Garofolo, Susan Sarandon, Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts and Jane Fonda are just a few of the current Hollywood elite who like voicing their opinions. They do little to nothing for our country, other than entertain us and earn a great deal of money for their effort. Notably Sean Penn has taken it upon himself to hob nob with Communist Dictators(his own father, also a Hollywood elitist, was an admitted communist)
America remembers the ' Hollywood' veterans, and thanks THEM for their honor and service to their countries. We also thank ALL men and women past, present and future, who strive to protect our country and freedom, in their service. Thank you, God Bless you, and God Bless America.
