Church membership rides to remember fallen Afghanistan soldier
Members of Grace United Methodist Church, North Canton Ohio remember fallen Army Sergeant Nick Casey who was laid to rest exactly one year ago with a special Bike Trek on Sunday. Casey was killed by a suicide bomber in Northern Afghanistan on October 27, 2008.
Members rode bicycles, ran, and walked up to 11 miles on a towpath trail as a part of the fundraiser and to remember the sacrifices made by all our veterans. Many of the members have sons and daughters on active duty in areas of conflict.
Sergeant Casey's father, Samuel, is an active member of the church. The funds raised will be used for a special monument to be placed in his honor at the Ohio Veteran's Memorial Wall In Clinton ,Ohio.
