This iReport is part of an assignment:
Travel Snapshots: Paris |
Saipan, Micronesia
Saipan is the capital of the United States Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. An island paradise near Guam in the western Pacific, Saipan says that Saipan is where the US starts its day since the sun rises there long before it reaches the mainland US.
The water is blissfully blue; the sand is as fine and soft, like flour; the flora is electrically colorful; and the hospitality is flawless. Not only is Saipan a fantastic beach destination, but it is also a key historical site for the Pacific Theater in World War II.
