    More from Ahhpook

Bachman turncoat underdrive (with apologies to Randy and the boys)

So no sooner did Michele B. call for that little gathering last week then she backpeddled and said she had nothing to do with organizing it.

So who did?  Well astroturf org AFP seems to have been involved but it is not clear who was the cart and who was the horse.  Other GOP astroturf orgs also appear to have had a hand in the mix.  Faux news was certainly eager to give air time to an airhead.  But who organized this thing.  Maybe its true maybe no one did organize it because if someone did then they did a really bad job of it.

The whole thing was ultimately pretty darn embarassing, with wing nut radio hosts making all manner of weird comments and many COMPLETELY offensive signs, many beyond the pale of decency.

Boehner misattributes the declaration to the constitution.

Some other anonymous rep. botched the pledge after declaring that liberals can't stand it.  And the hits just kept on coming.

In the aftermath the revisionists are claiming a million or more people were present when police and park service estimated perhaps a couple or a few thousand.  More "conservative estimates" than that which were repeated on networks like Faux were between 20000 and 50000.  BZZZZ wrong.  I have done crowd estimation in DC...  my from the hip estimate from the aerial photo ( likely accurate +/- perhaps 500) is about 3500.  This small crowd does not represent the people of this country or their real needs.  One thing is for sure they don't represent me, my family, the vast majority of my friends or my colleagues.

Americans REALLY want and need progress in the provision of healthcare.  The process is not moving too fast...it has taken us over 100 years to get this far.  The result will not interfere in your life or deny anyone care, or cause doctors to quit.

The AMA is for it.  AARP is for it.  Council of bishops is for it.  MY mom is for it.  And while you can't always trust your mother on everything...  I got to say, listen to my mom, before you listen to Bachman turncoat underdrive and her insane message of despair.
