This iReport is part of an assignment:
Ida's effects |
Ida's watch
i live in central Virginia and we are feeling the impact of what was left of Hurricane...tropical storm Ida. It is rainy and a bit breezy so far.
The watch pictured belonged to my grandmother whose first name was Ida. It was made in the late 1880s and she purchased shortly after the turn of the 20th century with money she earned from sewing for others.
Imagine how many storms of all types this watch, in its quiet ticking way, has gone through...a whole century of all kinds of weather.
Weather, to me, is the most interesting topic of all to study. I am so enjoying this rainy day!
